Pictures, Pictures, and more Pictures

I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to photograph several of my friends over the last few weeks. First was friend and former teacher, Lauren Garson. We shot on the High Line which has extended so much since I last saw in May.┬áLauren is absolutely beautiful and it was so much fun taking pictures and reconnecting.

Next I did a shoot at the gorgeous Conservatory Garden with dear friend, Ashley Klinger. Ashley recently got back from doing the tour of A Chorus Line in Tokyo and I’ve been living vicariously through her on Facebook. I always love photographing her and we couldn’t have loved that location more!

Last time I photographed the beautiful Audrey Thelemann was about a year ago when I was in rehearsals for Radio City and we were discussing her dream to join me in the line. Well even though I may not be there again this year, Audrey is the newest and youngest Rockette here in NY this season and I couldn’t be more happy for her! I was so lucky to have her come over on her day off yesterday and shoot on my roof at sunset. I love what we got!

Tiffany’s Photoshoot

Last week I had the opportunity of photographing my gorgeous Rockette friend, Tiffany Griffin. I had been itching to do a shoot after two months of no photo shoots. I’m sure you’ll agree with me when I say that Tiffany is absolutely stunning and boy did we luck out with the locations we found in Fort Tryon.

I had an absolute blast and lemme tell ya- it will NOT be another two months till my next shoot!

A Little King Lovin

So there’s this kid named Aaron.

It’s a shame he doesn’t have any talent.

I HAD to photograph him the other week, and boy was it a challenge.

Love my King Aaron. We had a lovely little shoot a few weeks back and even though my phone drowned in the process, it was a wonderful day. Next time you see a shoot of mine of Aaron it will most likely be in NY. Come August he’s joining me in the Big Apple as he will be studying at Marymount Manhattan. Get ready NY, the King’s comin to town!

love and laducas,

Two Years

On May 20, 2009, I took my first photoshoot with Makenzie. Two years later, I’ve taken over 80 photoshoots!

I’ve always loved photography. When I was little, my mom gave me her film camera and said I could take one picture. I then proceeded to use the whole role of film taking pictures of my stuffed animal cats on pillows. So even though I’ve only been photographing for two years, my love for photography has been a lifetime.

I’m so grateful for the role photography has taken in my life. It’s an artistic outlet for me… when everything seems to be going wrong I just whip out my baby and starting shooting away. Seeing life through a lens just magnifies how beautiful this world really is. Suddenly there is light and love all around. I feel like its my responsibility to share the joy I see with everyone.

Now last year I celebrated my anniversary with a beautiful Galveston photoshoot. I had a shoot planned for today but due to a number of things it had to be rescheduled. So today I looked at all the photos I’ve taken over this last year and thanked God for the blessings I have in my life.

A big thanks to Kenzie who said yes when I asked her if she wanted to take pictures in the park two years ago today.

Things I’m Thinking

-Some people just don’t know when to stop.

-I’ve found myself in the midst of grumpy people lately. I try to be extra happy but it seems to make the room sadder… Lighten up people.

-I’m on a major blog high. Can’t get enough of Apartment 34, Design Love Fest, my Lens of Love… there are so many brilliant people in this world!

-It feels good to be at the studio again. Different but the same.

-I REALLY need to do a photoshoot. ASAP.

-Anxiously awaiting Valentines Day. Anthropologie’s Wedding Line is being released. Dream come true! (I’m a huge wedding geek…)

-As of this very moment: New York= 30 degrees, Houston=59 degrees. Jealous, slushy New York???

-What was my life like without Ashley Van Pelt? I don’t remember.

-If you slur the words, “It’s Alright” so that it said, “S’alright,” it sounds like “Sorry.”

-I love my family so so much. I must say, I love living with my bro-in-law, Ryan. I never had brothers, so its fun to have some brotherly teasing. He gives the best advice and always provides great conversation. He and Nat are the cutest couple and I love seeing them all the time!!

-Been home for a week now and do you think I’ve emptied my suitcases? Probably should get on that…

-I’m about to turn 19? This year has certainly flown.

-Isn’t this photo just stunning:

have a great week!

Day Off in the Park

Nothing says great day off like 1,115 photos. Yesterday I spent the good majority of my day off in Central Park with some of my blue Rockette ladies taking photos. Amanda, Sarah, and Erin did more dancey shots and Kat and and Summyr (and Summyr’s mom) brought their little boys, Matthew and Beck,┬áto get some pictures of them. It was an absolutely wonderful day and I was very pleased with the shots we got!

Wish I could do that day over and over again. I had a blast!

Things I’m Thinking

-Have I really been here for 3 weeks? Sometimes it seems like longer but than it seems just like yesterday I was at the airport saying goodbye to Mom and Ashley.

-photoshoots. I wish I had more time to do them. I love how beautiful this city is.

-netflix is so worth the $9 a month

-just received my red coat from anthro. can’t wait to sport it out on the streets when it gets cold!

-I really can’t wait to see the next episode of Brothers & Sisters and Castle. Love those shows!

-My sunglasses are starting to chip. I miss my Raybans… RIP subway glasses…

-I really need a frying pan.

-I love that ever since I bought my rain boots, its rained once.

-If I get married in NY, I want to have my reception on a rooftop. Doesn’t that sound lovely?

-So looking forward to Sunday when I get to dress up in normal clothes.

-Being an adult and living on your own has its perks.

-Root Bear floats with chocolate ice cream are so good.

-I can’t wait to see my family and friends that are coming to visit me here in NYC!

Ny Photoshoots

I’ve had two photoshoots since I arrived in New York. My first shoot was with a new friend, Meryl Engelke, on a pier overlooking the Hudson. Meryl is such a beautiful dancer and we had a very fun time doing this shoot together.

This morning i had a marvelous shoot with dear Laura. She is just so beautiful, its not fair. I’m thinking she needs to start a modeling portfolio. Wouldn’t you agree?

I just love photographing this beautiful city and these beautiful people.

Wonder what’s in for next Sunday morning? You’ll have to check back and see!
