Opening Night… yikes

So tonights the night. My debut on Broadway is finally here… lol ya right! Actually the opening of RAFA’s Footloose is tonight. Just to warn you if you see me tonight I look like a flippin pirate. Just don’t look at me and enjoy what should be a good show. Kevin has done a wonderful job with the show of 45 children and I’m very excited for our run to get started. View the information below. Hope to see you at the RAFA studios this weekend or the next.

Love CC (Jason too!)

Happy Birthday Mr. Kevin!!!!

Today at Footloose we got to celebrate Kevin’s birthday. It was a lot of fun! Many people made fancy lookin cards, my mom made a wedding-singer-lookin cake… But my personal favorite part of the day was when Jen, Jason, Jack, Ellona, Sean, and I got to perform our 10 min musical medley of Kevin’s career for Kevin, Ms. Lynette, and the entire Footloose cast.

Back story: Yesterday after rehearsal Jason said to me “We should do something really awesome for Kevin’s birthday.” I jokingly said, “We should do a medley of all his shows.” From there we talked the other 4 into it easily and we met at my house @ 7pm(ish). Let’s just say we worked on that sucker till 12:45am! It was the funnest 51/2(ish) hrs EVER!!!

For our tribute we all dressed in in Kevin attire (cargo shorts, white under shirt, plaid over shirt, high socks, and tennis shoes) and performed numbers from The Who’s Tommy, Lion King, Hedwig and the Inch, Babes in Arms, Hair, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and The Wedding Singer. I had Monica video tape it for me so I’m going to give the footage to Jason to do some spiffy editing to it…

We feel so honored to being working with Kev and getting to know him. He really is the nicest man in show business. I’m so glad we were able to show our appreciation for him today with our silly choreography and bad lip-syncing…

Rehearsal Update

We have officially staged everything in Footloose and we’re starting to run the show and clean. Its looking really cute and I hope everyone reading this will get a chance to come see it. I’ve been taking a few clips of rehearsal and decided to post my favorite on youtube. Here is Anna Rigby with Jack Delac and the company singing, “Let’s Hear it for the Boy”, a song that once gets in your head, is impossible to get out!

That girl can saaang! You better work Miss Anna 🙂

Footloose promo shoot

RunningSaturday evening I took Jason, Jen, Jack, and Libby down to the Butler Property in Dickinson to take some photos for the Footloose press release. We had a lot of fun and everyone’s real happy with the way the pictures turned out. Jason, who is crazy rad with photoshop, totes made a poster out of all the pics. Go to his blog here to view the poster and his other amazingness posts. Here are some of my fave pics from the shoot. Enjoy!

And now I gotta cut loose

Yesterday I started rehearsals for Footloose, Rafa’s Summer Broadway Studio Work Shop. Kevin Cahoon is directing and I’m assisting him with the choreography. During rehearsal yesterday I watched the read/sing-through the show. I was very impressed the work they had done and it got me super stoked. The music is great dance music. I know it’ll be so fun to choreograph to. Today we worked on the opening scene. Kevin’s ideas are brilliant and I love love love being in the studio with him. His experience and fun attitude makes everyone want to work with him. And just let me say, I have NEVER met a more patient man. He has the patience of Job, by golly.

My bestie, Jason, who plays the leading role of Ren in the show, told me he’s probably gonna start vlogging the show so keep a look out at his blog and youtube channel : )
