Little Letters

It’s been a year since my last Little Letters so I thought it was about time to bring it back!

Dear New York, though I will be leaving you for a while soon, I’ll miss you. I won’t miss the winter though.

Dear Houston, it’s amazing how often I find myself missing you.

Dear Michael Tapley, thank you for being the absolute perfect mentor for me. I couldn’t be more excited to share the stage with you in WC!

Dear Mom, I cannot put into words how much I love you. Thank you for always being there to listen, talk, comfort, encourage, and direct me.

Dear Internet, you rock. It’s because of you I can sit in my living room and watch General Conference.

Dear clouds, I’m in love with your always changing patterns. I love the light rays and the silver linings you create. You are stunning.

Dear pasta, thank you for being yummy and easy to make. Maybe one of these days I’ll learn to cook something else.

Dear me, get your butt into a ballet class this week!

Dear Fall, you are my favorite. I love seeing the leaves change colors.

Dear Radio City, I’m not going to lie… I do miss you. And it is hard sometimes. But I’m forever grateful to everything that you taught me. I was extremely lucky to have you as my first professional job. I’m grateful for the friendships I gained and the lessons I learned.

Dear Itunes, get ready to put the White Christmas album on repeat!!!

Dear President Monson, you are the best storyteller. Oh how I’ve enjoyed listening to you this Conference weekend.

Dear you, I need a new book to read. Got any suggestions?

Happy Sunday! I’m so enjoying the talks being spoken in General Conference. Looking forward to everything I’ve got going on this week.

Deli Date

Where: Kenny & Ziggy’s Deli

With Who: Mom and Nikki

What was eaten: The Monte Cristo and The Cloak and Dagwood (best sandwich I’ve ever had!) and some Egg Cremes

To Go: The biggest eclair I have ever seen, 7 layer chocolate cake, vanilla cheesecake with chocolate mousse!

So I had to travel from New York to Houston to try out this New York style delicatessen. I have to say, one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Good good food! They are known for their giant sandwiches which you can easily split. I loved the whole ambiance of the room. It had a Sardi’s feel with the characters on the wall and they stole my idea of having a playbill border!

I give it five stars and would I highly recommend it to everyone in the Houston area!

Paris Part Deux: The Food

Food, Glorious Food.

We ate SO much food. Best food of my life.

I first tried escargot on a dare and loved it. I love it even more now. Don’t be afraid to try it!

I loved that all of the restaurants served their water from old wine bottles. Added such an elegant touch!

One thing’s for sure, those Parisians certainly know how to do chocolate! Everything chocolate we at was absolutely amazing!!!! I’d go back JUST for the chocolate.

And the chocolate cake from room service? Best chocolate cake I’ve ever had.

Breakfast at Angelina’s was certainly one of my favorites. If ever in Paris you MUST get their hot chocolate. It’s like drinking chocolate soup. The richest, thickest hot chocolate. To die for!

Another note worthy comment about French eating is their portion sizes. They’re much more reasonably sized. I don’t think I ever not finished a meal. No wonder you don’t see any obese Parisians! And even though they have fast food restaurants like Subway and McDonalds, who wants to eat there when EVERY other restaurant serves fabulous french cuisine?!

Another favorite of ours were Macaroons. I don’t think we actually got a picture of the ones we ate because they were just so irresistible we would eat them right away! From what I hear, macaroons are just starting to become popular here in the states and for that I say, “Hallelujah!”

Also, I’m now obsessed with toast and goat cheese. Delish!!

Well, we ate escargot, frog legs, duck, rabbit, cheeses, french onion soup, creme brulee, and everything chocolate.

C’est Magnifique!

February Celebrations

I had a very fun Birthday! Celebrated with a delicious home cooked breakfast and then later a fabulous dinner at The Melting Pot. For my birthday cake, my amazing mother made a “camera” cake. Isn’t she just brilliant?!

Now I’m not a sports person at all really, but of course my fam has to have a fantastic Superbowl Feast! So we ate our deliciousness and watched the commercials. Nikki also brought over just a few brands from her Root Beer collection. As an MT, my comments for the Superbowl were 1) Christina was good but Shoshana could take her any day and 2) What was up with Lea? I know I’m not a fan, but she seriously sounded like she had a frog in her throat. Here’s the food pics:

And of course their was Valentines Day filled with love and sweets in the Cannon household!

Happy February!!
