To go along with my list of guys, here are my top 10 female performers I am most inspired by…

10. Vera-Ellen, i watch her dance and it’s exactly how i want to move.

9. Ann Miller, first time i watched her tap i thought, i didn’t know that was humanly possible. perfection.

8. Karen Ziemba, she’s an absolute broadway gem. i could watch her perform all the time!

7. Bernadette Peters, no explanation is needed for her brilliance.

6. Nataly Dawn (voice of Pomplamoose), i absolutely love her voice. plus she’s so hipster!

5. Audrey Hepburn, true class.

4. Sutton Foster, i want her career. she’s truly amazing. i want go on out of fear of looking like a complete dork.

3. Julie Andrews, if i could choose anyone to be my mother besides my own, julie would be my choice. What a wonderful singer, actress, and person.

2. Judy Garland, every time I watch her I am in awe.

1. Ginger Rogers, she did everything Fred did but backwards and in heels. that pretty much sums up her amazingness!

I’m not one to blog about my love life…

… but I felt prompted to today. Everyone asks me if I’ve met anyone while I’ve been in NY. Not really. Seeing as the only guys I see are at work and most of them bat for the opposite team, I really haven’t met many straight men (remotely close to my age as well.)

So on nights like these where I wish I was on a cute Manhatten dinner date, I’m actually sitting at home eating oreos and watching White Christmas. This happens a lot, but a different musical/romantic comedy. I watch all these dreamy guys on screen and I think about what my dream man is… K, here’s my top 10.

10. Danny Kaye

9. a straight version of Cheyenne Jackson

8. Jimmy

7. Jeffery Denman

6. Noah

5. Donald O’Connor

4. Gilbert

3. Fred Astaire

2. Mr. Darcy

1. Gene Kelly

I realize that I’m in love with fictional characters and men that I’ve only see play fictional characters, but until Mr. Right comes along, these men will just have to do.

p.s. sorry im not much of a blogger these day. work keeps me very busy and i’m about to have a butt load of visitors for the holidays! so my blogging will probably be less frequent for the rest of the month. merry christmas and happy holidays!

Please be my friend on the Facebook

day 4- a habit that you wish you didn’t have

Whenever I get onto the internet, 7 of 10 times my fingers will automatically type in Facebook, even if I’m not planning on going there. I’m on Facebook way too much. I love it, but it’s addicting.

Maybe lessing my facial book time on will be a resolution come 2011. But I still have a few weeks left of 2010…

Singular Sensations

day 3- a picture of you and your friends

This photo was of 2 years ago when we performed the opening number of A Chorus Line for Rafa on Bway. We all had so much fun and I just adore this photo.

Thoughts shared, souls bared, telephone calls

day 2- the meaning behind your blog name

The title of this blog is exactly as it seems. Its about my adventures with all the wonderful people I have in my life. Even though blogs are a very personal thing, almost like a public journal, I didn’t want my blog to be all about me. I’m so blessed to have such amazing friends and people who love and support me. I love the company I have in my life.

“Phone rings, door chimes, in comes Company!
No strings, good times, room hums, Company!
Late nights, quick bites, party games,
Deep talks, long walks, telephone calls.
Thoughts shared, souls bared, private names,
All those photos up on the walls.”

Thank you Mr. Sondheim.

I’m a proud owner of 10 pairs of Laducas

11. I’m a stickler for butter on popcorn. Lots of butter.

12. I’m currently learning the art of layering winter clothes.

13. When I started blogging, I didn’t think it would last long.

Here are some quotes I’ve recently fallen in love with:

“We all have the potential to fall in love a thousand times in our lifetime. It’s easy. The first girl I ever loved was someone I knew in sixth grade. Her name was Missy; we talked about horses. The last girl I love will be someone I haven’t even met yet, probably. They all count. But there are certain people you love who do something else; they define how you classify what love is supposed to feel like. These are the most important people in your life, and you’ll meet maybe four or five of these people over the span of 80 years. But there’s still one more tier to all this; there is always one person you love who becomes that definition. It usually happens retrospectively, but it happens eventually. This is the person who unknowingly sets the template for what you will always love about other people, even if some of these loveable qualities are self-destructive and unreasonable. The person who defines your understanding of love is not inherently different than anyone else, and they’re often just the person you happen to meet the first time you really, really, want to love someone. But that person still wins. They win, and you lose. Because for the rest of your life, they will control how you feel about everyone else.”
— Chuck Klosterman (Killing Yourself to Live: 85% of a True Story)

“You are as brilliant and talented as you are irritating.” -Glee

“When we dream, we enter a world entirely of our own.” -Dumbledore

“Never mind if you’ve nothing more musical than a mouth-organ by way of an orchestra. If there’s rhythem, you can dance, and if you can dance, you can be happy, and if you can be happy, what else matters?” -Karsnova (Don’ts for Dancers)

“Good friends are like stars. You don’t always see them, but you know they’re always there.” -old saying

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go…”
— Dr. Seuss (Oh, the Places You’ll Go!)

“I was waiting for the longest time, she said. I thought you forgot. It is hard to forget, I said, when there is such an empty space when you’re gone.” -brian andreas
