Videos and Explanations

Seth Rudetsky makes me happy. i want to be his best friend. Nothing makes me feel better faster than his deconstructions. Tonight I watched this one, this one, and this one.

Adele can saaaang! hearing the story behind each of her songs is just inspiring.

she loved to dance. what drives me crazy are most ballet dancers are such perfectionists that they forget why they love it. i hope i never forget.

obsessed with song, choreography, and dancer. makes me merry happy.

watched this first which got me hooked. then saw this and just tripped me out.

i love that audra and idina can sing the same song and for it to sound phenomenal in both of there styles.

can’t get enough of this girl. GIVE HER HER OWN SHOW!

Came upon this vid as i’ve been prepping for Annie. That key change is perfection.

this song makes me want to meet that person i’m supposed to spend the rest of my life with.

i love youtube.

I Know How You Feel

The topic today is feelings. So ya know how annoying it can be when someone tells you “I know how you feel,” and you think “How can you possibly know what I’m going through right now?” No one can possibly know exactly how another feels.

However, today I was doing some thinking while listening to my extensive Itunes library, more specifically, “Quiet” from Jonathan Reid Gealt’s album. I connect so personally to that song, almost to the point where I’m convinced he wrote it about my life. listening to song after song, I think, “How do these songs sound like it were me that wrote them?” The thing is, these artists who wrote them are probably feeling about the same as me.

Even though we’re all in different situations in our lives, in a way, we can relate more than we think. It may be different heart ache, but it’s still heart ache none the less. You may be betrayed, but you’re not the only one. You may hurt, but someone out there hurts as well.

So in a way, when that person says, “I know how you feel,” they kind of do. In there own way, they’ve gone through what you have. All humans experience the same type of emotions, its just the intensity of these feelings that differ.

So what do we do? We connect through literature, song, poetry, television, theatre, or just hearing each other out. We’re all the same.

“Every garbage worker, waitress and the man who stands the corner- just the same as you and I and every CEO in suit and tie. A different face a different name. But all of our feelings are the same.” -Ben Rector’s “The Feeling”

Beautiful Poem

I read this beautiful poem today on B for Bonnie and had to share. These are lessons I’m learning…

After a While
by Veronica A. Shoffstall

After a while you learn
The subtle difference between
Holding a hand and chaining a soul
And you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning
And company doesn’t always mean security.

And you begin to learn
That kisses aren’t contracts
And presents aren’t promises
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes ahead
With the grace of a woman
Not the grief of a child

And you learn
To build all your roads on today
Because tomorrow’s ground is
Too uncertain for plans
And futures have a way
Of falling down in mid flight

After a while you learn
That even sunshine burns if you get too much
So you plant your own garden
And decorate your own soul
Instead of waiting
For someone to bring you flowers

And you learn
That you really can endure
That you are really strong
And you really do have worth
And you learn and you learn
With every good bye you learn.

February Celebrations

I had a very fun Birthday! Celebrated with a delicious home cooked breakfast and then later a fabulous dinner at The Melting Pot. For my birthday cake, my amazing mother made a “camera” cake. Isn’t she just brilliant?!

Now I’m not a sports person at all really, but of course my fam has to have a fantastic Superbowl Feast! So we ate our deliciousness and watched the commercials. Nikki also brought over just a few brands from her Root Beer collection. As an MT, my comments for the Superbowl were 1) Christina was good but Shoshana could take her any day and 2) What was up with Lea? I know I’m not a fan, but she seriously sounded like she had a frog in her throat. Here’s the food pics:

And of course their was Valentines Day filled with love and sweets in the Cannon household!

Happy February!!

Excited and Scared

I do monthly goals. Not so much resolutions. For February my personal goal is to do one thing a day that scares me, inspired by my Lululemon bag.

In the next few days I will be doing something, that with the help of some friends, I would probably never do by myself.

Like today I’m wearing pink lipstick. Scary? Yes. Exhilarating? Yes. Do I love it? Yes.

Come back soon to find out some exciting (and scary!) changes for CC!
